Arefeen is a seasoned inclusive communications and marketing professional. With over a decade of expertise in marketing, social research, communications for development and communications in the humanitarian sectors, Arefeen has garnered competencies and know-how that gives her an edge in packaging thought provoking and impacting information to target audiences with a call to action.
Arefeen has held top tier positions as Team Leader Communications, Marketing Assistant and Senior Sector Specialist in reputed private firms such as Media 8 Communications Ltd. ADEC in Australia and BRAC. She has remained a prominent driving force in steering BRAC and ADECs disability rights agenda which include disability audits and being a member of the disability rights working group panel at BRAC with multi-sectoral stakeholders.
Ms. Ahmed is trained in Professional Communications, Policy Advocacy and Story Telling accredited by BRAC, Mental Health and Psychosocial Wellbeing in Emergencies approved by the Asian Disaster Preparedness Centre, BRAC and the Royal Netherlands Embassy including Human Rights based Access to Justice accredited by UNDP.
Arefeen is a strong relationship builder. She has single-handedly coordinated round table conferences and advocacy events engaging academics, development professionals, officials from the UN, the media and corporate agencies to create workable solutions to social inclusion and leaving no one behind. Arefeen is well acquainted with people from diverse cultural backgrounds as a result of studying and working in Bangladesh and overseas.
