Syeda Lubana Alam graduated from Ahsanullah University of Science & Technology with a Bachelor of Architecture in 2014. She also has a Masters of Science in Disaster Management from Dhaka University. Since her graduation Syeda Lubana Alam has worked as an architect in Bangladesh extensively. She has worked in various design and construction companies as architect. She has worked as project architect in govt. projects in Bangladesh Department of Architecture. Her interest focuses on the geometric and morphological development of architecture with settlements and their connection with social, cultural and religious processes. Lubana has also been working on disaster resilient housing projects in Bangladesh. She has taken training for collapsed structure search and rescue fire-fighting and first aid for volunteers who worked in participatory action research projects for developing building-for-safety options in different flood-prone rural areas of Bangladesh. She has also worked on and studied built environments in Bangladesh with particular focus on psycho-social disability, ageing population & related disability. Lubana is currently working with Identity Inclusion for assessing buildings if they have been built according to International Standards such as the Universal design codes and Bangladesh National Building Code (BNBC) and making buildings more accessible for disabled people. Currently she is partner architect of Outline Architects.
